In 2005, we participated in a 3-day meditation seminar in Budapest, Hungary, with some new people interested in initiation into the Quan Yin Method. After returning to Prague, I looked at my appointment book, which is usually full. This time, I was free for the whole week. The very next day, someone called me from the Hungarian center saying that we could come to Hungary for group meditation. It was strange to me because we had just returned from Hungary. It was freezing outside. The temperatures were around minus 20 degrees Celsius and it was snowing. I called the brothers and sisters and three of us left for Hungary again the next day. The destination of our trip was described very vaguely. After Budapest, we were supposed to turn at a field and drive for some time along a dirt road to farm buildings. This dirt road was steep, snow-covered and with deep potholes. The instructions were clear, to recite the Five Holy Names all the way. This we did and reached our destination without any problems. The big surprise was that after a break of several years, when Master was on retreat, She suddenly appeared in a modified outbuilding in the middle of the fields. It was a lovely surprise. An interesting experience awaited us on the way back. In the car, we talked about our impressions of meeting with Master and we didn’t even think about the Five Holy Names and the Gift. On the way down the dirt road, we hit a pothole and the car’s entire exhaust system was torn off. We had to call for help to get free and we drove home with the exhaust in the trunk.
It was a great experience for us. Reciting the Five Holy Names really works. It protects us in any situation. Despite this experience, I often forget this in my daily life.
