Lunar New Year Hot Pot & Reunion Pudding

Today we are preparing Chinese New Year’s “huo guo” (hot pot). Mostly Chinese New Year they like to be together so they call it hot pot. They make a hot pot right in the middle of the table, or in the middle of the house; everybody gathers together and almost like cooks the dinner themselves on the table. So we have to prepare all the ingredients for people to cook. The sweet pudding that the Chinese also love it at New Year’s time. They call it tuan yuan pudding. “Tuan yuan” means united, reunion. That’s why they like to have it in New Year because they like to be together.
