In today’s news, nonprofit South American eye-care network brings medical services to remote community. More than one million pieces of space debris orbiting our planet, United Nations agencies enhance water security in Jordan, Japanese tatami artisans find new global markets, Ugandan youth create solar-powered tents to protect unhoused and displaced people, eco-conscious Philippine entrepreneur launches vegan skincare brand, and US volunteer transports missing dog-person from Michigan to caregiver in California.

I’m getting lots of little household jobs done these few weeks and I hope you are too. Here’s a DIY hack I discovered that keeps dust from spreading when you drill holes in a wall. All you need is a plastic bottle and cap, flat washer, and spring to make your very own custom dust collector. First, cut off the top of a plastic bottle to around half or less of the length as your mounted drill bit. This will function as a funnel that catches debris. Then string the washer followed by the spring and bottle cap facing upside down onto the drill bit. By incorporating a spring, the bottle can be compressed against the wall as the drill bit goes inward, ensuring there's a tight seal throughout the process. Lastly, twist on the plastic bottle section into the cap and start drilling. This simple and inexpensive hack not only keeps your workspace tidy, but also protects you from inhaling fine particles.

Nothing relieves tension faster than a hearty laugh. Please enjoy today’s joke entitled, “Wits on Demand.”

A king is locked in a territorial dispute with a neighboring monarch. As the standoff drags on, his frustration grows.

“Where are my two court jesters?!”

In a flash, the jesters appear at his side.

“Alright. Let’s continue —now that I have my wits about me.”

And now we have a heartline in Mandarin Chinese, with multiple-language subtitles, from Hua-Yun in China
