Before I was vegan, I would go into the gym and do little workouts. I thought I was doing really well, I didn’t want to push myself. I felt like the gym was something I had to do and go and get through to be healthy. After I switched to a vegan diet, I noticed much more energy in my workouts. I noticed my body started changing. I started getting more muscly, looking more toned, and being stronger. I ran my first marathon after switching to a plant-based diet. When I was doing that, when I was doing my marathon training, I was working 50 hours in the gym because it was the peak season in the gym I was working at. I was still doing my strength training, and I felt great. So to do all of that and then still be able to feel my body, I knew that this was the right diet for me because I didn’t feel depleted. I felt strong, I felt empowered.
