I’d like to offer a tip if you enjoy eating peanuts. Peanuts are protein-packed snacks that are not only beneficial for your health, but also for your garden. The shells function as a natural fertilizer, mulch, and pest repellant and help regulate soil temperature, retain soil moisture, and decrease weed growth. They even provide the soil and plants with essential nutrients such as carbon and nitrogen after they break down. Therefore, rather than tossing out the shells after you eat the peanuts, crush them up and sprinkle them throughout your garden. If you have salted shells, be sure to rinse and dry them prior to dispersing so it doesn’t leave any extra sodium in the soil.

It might not be easy to listen to the joke of the day without making some guffaws, but you can try! This one’s entitled “Three Fruits.”

In a kindergarten class, the teacher asked the students:

“Who among you can name three fruits?”

Little Eric quickly replied:

“Two apples and one banana, ma’am!”

?!

And now we have a heartline from the down-to-Earth friends of the lake in Constance, Germany
