Sadha has been a vegetarian since 2012, and she chose to do so, because she didn’t actually enjoy the taste, and she definitely did not appreciate the killing involved. “I quit having red meat when I just saw an animal being sacrificed at a festival, and it just broke my heart. I felt no living being need to go through that amount of fear and pain for me to satisfy my taste buds.” Sadha’s kind acts to animals was recognized and acknowledged by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India. She received PETA’s Hero to Animals Award for rescuing a puppy, who had been hit by a car, and then changing her travel plans, so that she could care for it.
