I've got a handy tip for you today if you have fences, patios or outdoor structures made of wood. Appropriate maintenance of your wooden structures can significantly improve their lifespan and increase the chance of them surviving the elements during the year. Maintain your wood by treating it with paint, wood stain or a protective layer like varnish. Unprotected wood is susceptible to mold, algae and wood rot, and tends to discolor over time as a result of the weather and sun damage. Generally, if you notice that water no longer beads on the wood, then it's time for a fresh coat of protection. If you keep up with the maintenance, then you will be able to save money on repairs and replacements and keep your home and garden looking splendid.
